I have talked to y’all about being a team. This will be your “home.”
Each week we will have a blogging assignment. My plan is to start off simply and build our skills as we go. In the next couple of week I will be adding you as an author on this site, so eventually you will be responsible for adding new posts. This week all you have to do is find the blog and answer the following question as a comment on this post by Friday (9/3) at 3:30pm.
What is one thing that you have learned this week (or last week) that you will need to remeber in May for the test AND what is your trick for how are you going to remember it?
I hope I'm the first one to comment on this!
ReplyDeleteThis week I learned that H2O is a polar molecule, which means it has both a positive and a negative side. I remember this by recalling that bipolar people have 2 sides (normal and crazy). Hopefully this gets me an A!

Hello Mrs. Jacobs!!
ReplyDeleteThis week I have learned that there are three types of isomers. Structural: Different in covalent arrangements of atoms, Geometric: Same covalant partnership but different in spatial covalant partnership, and Enantionmers: Mols are mirror images.

Hola! This week I have learned the six functional groups: hydroxyl, carbonyl, carboxyl, amino group, sulfhydryl group, and the phosphate group. I remember this by using the acronym HCCASP. It kind rhymes. Sort of.

ReplyDeleteThis week I have learned the major elements of life are Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen, Nitrogen, Sulfur, and Phosphorus. I remember this from the phrase I made from the acronym of these elements. Come Have Oustanding Nutritious Strawberry Pie. [:

Hello(:
ReplyDeleteThis week i learned that there are three important types of disaccharides.
maltose: glucose + glucose
sucrose: glucose + fructose
lactose: glucose + galactose
I remember this by thinking about chocolate shakes(malts) for maltose because they mainly have sugar.
I remember sucrose by thinking about fruit juice and "suc" would be like "suck". For example, you suck out of a straw for fruit juice!(:
And finally, I remember lactose by thinking about galaxies(galactose). C:

Hi everybody! This week I learned that hydrocarbons are molecules made of just Hydrogen and Carbon. I remember this because the name sounds like Hydrogen and Carbon put together.

Hi Mrs. Jacobs, I learned the difference b/w COhesion & ADhesion. I like 2 think water likes 2 be "cozy" & stick to itself & others things, creating surface tension, & it likes 2 "add" itself 2 surfaces, creating the capillary action.

i learned that there are 4 types of macromolecules: nucleic acids, lipids, proteins, and carbs.

I learned that in water, Oxygen is more electonegative than hydrogen.
ReplyDeleteIn my picture, the two hydrogen atoms are smiling and oxygen is frowning.
